Impact: Originally focused on in-person engagement, the project shifted towards the development of a gamified (gamed-based) educational app, ESPECIES, which integrates environmental education and biological control concepts in an interactive and accessible format. This digital tool enables widespread dissemination of knowledge on invasive aquatic species, fostering systemic thinking and environmental awareness among students and educators. The app, complemented by outreach in schools, seminars, surveys, and educational materials, significantly broadened the project's reach, engaging diverse educational communities and promoting sustainable, low-impact solutions to biological invasions. Its scalable and inclusive nature positions it as a powerful resource for environmental education, with the potential for replication in other regions facing similar ecological challenges.
