The project conducted feasibility studies, designed demonstration projects, and organized a regional seminar to train and connect experts from Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. The initiative helped raise awareness of solar irrigation technology, built local capacity for system development and maintenance, and facilitated knowledge-sharing among participating countries. Its outcomes support the adoption of clean, low-cost irrigation solutions that can improve crop productivity, reduce reliance on fossil fuels, and strengthen food security—contributing directly to sustainable rural development and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals in the region.
