Impact:The project focused on strengthening railway safety and maintenance through advanced inspection technologies, supported the development and application of modern systems to monitor rail conditions, detect defects, and improve the reliability of railway infrastructure. Key outcomes included the transfer of technical know-how, joint research initiatives, and capacity-building activities such as staff training and knowledge exchange. The project’s implementation not only enhanced local expertise in railway diagnostics but also laid the groundwork for longer-term improvements in the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of rail transport. Its impact is expected to contribute to more resilient infrastructure and better service quality for railway users in participating countries.
