UNITED NATIONS OFFICE VIENNA (UNOV)/UNITED NATIONS OFFICE ON DRUGS AND CRIME (UNODC)
The Group also positions itself on development issues in the Vienna based sessions of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL). For UNOOSA, this includes in particular the support for developing state’s activities and in outer space and the equitable and peaceful uses thereof in the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space. Moreover, the Group pronounces a common position on the question of the possible contribution of the use of outer space to the 2030 Agenda. For UNODC matters, the Group cooperates on a broad range of issues including crime, corruption, and drugs. Whereas the point of focus for UNCITRAL matters is Working Group III thereof, on Investor-State dispute settlement, a topic that has strong implications for developing countries.
